Elena's larger mission is to empower youth to advocate for their needs, either in the classroom, on the practice field, or at home.

Elena McGahey, ACC is the Founder and CEO of Stronger Foundations Coaching. She is a certified ADHD Coach and Academic Life Coach. In addition, she is a middle school Teacher Resident at The Shefa School in New York City.

Elena graduated from the Thacher School in 2013 and from Columbia University in 2017. At Columbia, she majored in American Studies and minored in Statistics, and was Captain of the DI Women's Crew Team.

Elena is currently pursuing her Master’s in Special Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. Her focus is on intellectual disabilities and autism in adolescents. In addition, she is pursuing an advanced certificate in teaching literacy to struggling readers at Teachers College. Finally, she also hones her craft through biweekly 1:1 supervision sessions with Jodi Sleeper-Triplett from JST Coaching and Training.

Elena started working in education in 2019 as a part-time tutor for Swell Education Group. In December 2020, she enrolled in the 9-month ADHD and Life Coaching certificate program, Empowering Students Through Coaching. She knew almost immediately that she had found her calling. In June 2021, she left her position as a Behavioral Economics research assistant to pursue one-on-one education full time.

Outside of work, Elena enjoys long-distance running, ceramics, baking, and reading, in addition to spending time with friends.
